Position Title: Process Safety - Risk Engineers

Description

Seeking senior level engineers to assist with risk engineering and PSM.

Qualified candidate will:

  • Participate/facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) activities such as HAZOPs, "what ifs", etc., as well as Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies and address action items resulting from these studies, audits, incident investigations, etc.
  • Document safety requirement specifications and perform calculations to determine the required integrity level of each Safety Instrumented Function (SIF). Modifies or designs Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) to meet the required Safety Integrity Level (SIL).
    • Key Understanding of ISA 84, IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and OSHA 1910 standards
    • Certification as a Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) desired
  • Document projects to include developing testing requirements
  • Validates SIFs to ensure they have the desired functionality
  • Maintains performance of SIFs and monitor changes to SIS that might affect SIL
  • Audits designs, procedures and installations
  • Provide Safety Requirements Specification
    • (SRS)
Provide SIF Conceptual/Detailed Design. Must be able to manage and execute safety, risk or related projects and activities. Must also be able to demonstrate a comprehensive history of active project management specific to consequence and risk analysis and similar studies. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills while interfacing with clients and other staff members. Assignments may include tasks in design and development, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigation, accident investigation and report preparation.

Experience: Experience in Process Engineering, Risk Management, Consequence Analysis, Quantitative Risk Analysis, PHA/HAZOP/LOPA Facilitation, Fire Protection, SIS/SIL, and/or PSM/RMP.

Position Title: Instrument and Controls Engineer

Location: Greenville, SC (Corporate Headquarters); Houston, TX; and Anchorage, AK

Description

Provide control system engineering support for projects for the oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical industries.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide consulting and engineering services in support of Basic Process Control Systems including Siemens PCS7, Moore APACS, Moore Quadlog, ABB 800XA, Honeywell Experion, Foxboro IA, Emerson Delta V, Rockwell ControlLogix.
  • Provide consulting and engineering services in support of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) including Siemens PCS7 Failsafe, ABB 800XA, Honeywell Safety Manager, Triconex, HIMA, RTP.
  • Participate in Layers of Protection Analysis. Develop SIS conceptual designs including Safety Integrity Level calculations.
  • Develop Safety Requirements Specifications, Cause & Effect Diagrams and Functional Test Plans.
  • Develop Functional Requirements Specifications.
  • Batch system design and development experience a plus.
  • Support proposal development.
  • Design and specify control system hardware and software and field equipment and instrumentation.
  • Program safety and control systems.
  • Develop and perform safety and control system hardware and software testing procedures. Support field implementation, commissioning and startup.
  • Analyze variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan, communicate any reasons for issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to project management.

Experience: Junior level: 0 - 5 years experience in performing general instrumentation, controls and/or process engineering

Senior level: 5+ years experience in design of Safety Instrumented Systems and general engineering experience. Project Management experience a plus. Configuration / network and panel design skills required. Required Software Skills: PCS7, Moore APACS, and Moore Quadlog configuration.

Certifications: FE, PE strongly certification preferred. CFSE a plus.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
